Fire Art by Anna Wolfson, Raks Geek, and Kurt Feuer

Abby's Introduction to the Fire Ceremony

And now, to help solidify this union further, Zach and Maggie will co-create a flame unique to their own union. Much like the nature of their marriage, each of them possess a chemical that, though initially unseen, will release electrons to a higher, excitable state which will result in a beautiful flame as a fruit of their union. The flame will not keep, however, unless lovingly fed. The unity flame will be coupled with our wedding party's kindling which is composed of dried flowers, sage, and the wood of fallen trees, and pieces of nature that once served the Earth which will now be the fuel of sacred celebration and serves us In Love. As these chosen pieces of nature dutifully fold themselves into smoldering embers we will build with it a greater fire that all community members present are welcome to lovingly feed throughout the night until the return of our Sun comes with the presence of a new dawn - the Dawn of Maggie and Zach's new Marriage.

Burn Barrels by Anna Wolfson

Our friend, Anna Wolfson, volunteered to learn how to use a plasma cutter to gift these amazing burn barrels to us! We started the fire in these barrels at our fire ceremony and you all kept them burning all night long. We use them in our yard now and think back fondly to that night every time we stare into their red hot glow.

Anna incorporated the logo that our friend Jason Burian designed to represent our wedding and our new family!

Anna's incredible art can be seen around Chicago and around the world! You can see more of her work at http://www.annawolfson.com/ and on her Facebook page.

Hellzapoppin by Kurt Feuer

Major thanks to our friend Kurt Feuer for contributing his flamethrowing popcorn cart to our event! Our guests, both young and old, delighted in pushing the button to trigger 8 foot fire balls throughout the night. Other pieces by Kurt can often be seen at Lakes of Fire, the midwest regional Burn. Kurt has collaborated with The League of Troubled Souls to create some epic pieces of fire art.
